The event season opened with an evening of poetry reading and music with Carol Ann Duffy, the UK’s first female and openly LGBT Poet Laureate. It also featured BFI film screenings in the library and walking tours in partnership with Queer Tours of London.
Senate House Library worked with a variety of partners to host a range of events throughout the season, further engaging with the exhibition themes including:
- Award-winning Polari Literary Salon
- Polari creative writing workshop
- Queer Between the Covers guided walk of Bloomsbury relating to works in the exhibition – led by Queer Tours of London
- 7 Film screenings including - BFI Britain on Film: LGBT in Britain and LGBT films ranging from 60s classics to recently released films from the Senate House Library collection
- Poetry and music events – including a live choral performance
- Wikipedia Editathon
- Queer Publishing Conference – lectures & talks on the world of Queer Publishing
- Book Art: Meet The Artist who has created book sculptures inspired by the exhibition
