This 1981 Danish children’s book was published in English in 1983 by the Gay Men’s Press. Author Susanne Bösche hoped children with gay parents would identify with 5-year-old Jenny, who lives with her Dad and his partner, and their daily routine of cooking, sleeping, and going to the launderette, whilst also not hiding from tackling homophobia, which is explained as the product of ignorance. Despite the gentle simplicity of the tale, the inclusion of the book in a London Education Authority teacher centre was enough to enrage the UK press, which fed into the ideology of Clause 28.
