Culture under Pressure: Rianna Jade Parker on Caribbean Queer Literature
A long-time dedication to assembling and expanding a personal collection of Black literature began to naturally furcate a branch of Caribbean writers and literary representations of the Caribbean islands and neighbouring nations. This lecture explores focuses on the narratives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in the Anglophone Caribbean.

Rianna Jade Parker is an independent art curator, archivist and writer of criticism and creative non-fiction. An avid reader and proponent of transatlantic Black literature and cultural theories with a concentration on transatlantic Caribbean artistic and literary legacies. Her interdisciplinary practice is informed by Black feminist theory, visual cultures, design and printmaking.
