Seng Tee Lee Seminar Room, Senate House Library

A hands-on interactive workshop where participants will be able to play vintage computer games from the 1980s and 1990s inspired by the concepts of utopia and dystopia. ‘Sinistar’, ‘Fallout’, ‘Syndicate’, ‘Utopia: the creation of a nation’ and many other classic titles depict post-apocalyptic worlds full of action and adventure where the player is in control of the future. Many of these games have been preserved by the Internet Archive and can still be played today.

The workshop will be facilitated by Jane Winters, Professor of Digital Humanities at the School of Advanced Studies.
